The Seaboard Air Line pushed its Florida line to Miami in 1925 and on to Homestead two years later, and this 1927 depot sat at the end of it. The building combined a passenger station and a freight house, the standard Seaboard arrangement in south Florida, with the same Corinthian arches used at Naples and Hialeah. Scheduled passenger service through it barely lasted the decade. It still stands, which makes it the southernmost railroad station in the United States and the last one Seaboard ever built.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
