This was the 1904 house of the Homestead station agent for the Florida East Coast Railway, moved to this lot in the mid 1960s. The museum inside it was founded in 1962 around a donation of Native American artifacts from Herbert S. Zim and a collection of tools gathered by local women. The land under it was given by Henry and Jacqueline Brooker, and Henry had homesteaded just west of Florida City in 1907. It joined the National Register in 1973.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
