The Glenn Curtiss Mansion, an adobe house built by an aviator
1925
Miami Springs, Florida
Curtiss built this house in 1925 at the edge of the town he was inventing, in the Pueblo Revival style of the Southwest rather than anything Floridian. His wife Lua called it Dar-Err-Aha. He died in 1930 at the age of 52, five years after moving in, and the house now takes tours and events on the northern rim of Miami International Airport.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
