The Fort Worth Zoo starts with one lion and two bear cubs
1909
Fort Worth, Texas
The 1909 collection was a lion, two bear cubs, an alligator, a coyote, a peacock and a few rabbits. A flood that same year destroyed the animals, and the city's first parks superintendent chose this site for the replacement. The zoo has stayed on it ever since, which makes it the oldest continuous zoo site in Texas, and it now holds about 7,000 animals.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
