The Fort Worth Stock Show, the oldest continuous livestock show and rodeo

The first show was held in North Fort Worth in March 1896 and there has been one every year since, which makes it the oldest continuously running livestock show and rodeo in the country. In 1918 the organisers moved the riding events inside the North Side Coliseum and sold twelve performances over six days, the first indoor rodeo anywhere. About 23,000 people came to watch ladies bronc riding, steer riding and a wild horse race run with no saddle or bridle. The show later moved to this cultural district site.
