The Fort Street bank branch Wirt Rowland designed before the Guardian

Wirt Rowland drew this two storey limestone branch while working for Albert Kahn, nine years before he gave Detroit the Guardian Building. Doric columns frame the entrance but the ornament is already pulling away from the classical and toward Art Deco. It opened in 1920 for a bank founded in 1849 and now holds a community health clinic.
