The Forney Energy Center is the second largest gas fired power station in Texas
2003
Forney, Texas
Six combined cycle generators of 304 megawatts each sit on the prairie east of Forney, adding up to more than 1,800 megawatts. The plant came online in 2003, in the wave of merchant gas stations built across Texas after the state opened its electricity market. Only the Sabine plant on the Louisiana line burns more gas.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
