The Farm
1951
Camp Peary, Williamsburg, Virginia
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
Every CIA case officer for seven decades has learned tradecraft at a military reservation outside Williamsburg that the government has never officially acknowledged as what everyone knows it is. The Farm sits in plain sight along I-64 behind deer fencing and understatement, close enough to Colonial Williamsburg that tourists photograph its exit sign. Its graduates are not allowed to say where they trained, which has kept the name famous.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
