Aerospace Data Facility-Colorado flies the reconnaissance satellites
1992
Aurora, Colorado
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
The National Reconnaissance Office did not officially exist until the government acknowledged it in 1992. One of its three ground stations in the continental United States sits behind the fence at Buckley in Aurora, where crews command reconnaissance satellites and pass what those satellites collect to other federal agencies. The compound also answers to Space Delta 20 and to the name Consolidated Denver Mission Ground Station.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
