The Anderson Bridge stands where the Charles was first bridged
1662
Cambridge, Massachusetts

The Great Bridge was thrown across the Charles here in 1662, the first structure ever to span the river, and it put Cambridge on the road out of Boston to the west. The crossing has been rebuilt over and over on the same ground. The current brick faced arch dates from 1915 and carries traffic off North Harvard Street straight into Harvard Square.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
