Southfield Town Center, five gold towers on the Lodge
1989
Southfield, Michigan
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
Five interconnected high rises in reflective gold glass, built in stages between 1975 and 1989 and totalling about 2.2 million square feet of offices, a hotel and a conference centre. It is the closest thing the northern suburbs have to a downtown skyline, and it was built at a freeway interchange rather than on a street grid.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
