BOK Tower, a half-scale World Trade Center
1976
Tulsa, Oklahoma

Minoru Yamasaki designed the Twin Towers, and John Williams of the Williams Companies liked them enough to hire him to build a half-scale copy of the north tower in Tulsa. One Williams Center opened in 1976 at 52 storeys and 667 feet, the tallest building in Oklahoma until Devon Tower passed it in 2011. Since 2001 it has been the closest thing standing to the original: the same architect, the same narrow windows and tapered base, at half the height.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
