Coming soon signs went up on this corner of Garland in 1984 and then nothing happened for nineteen years. Ground was finally broken in 2003 and the mall opened in October 2005, by which point the enclosed format the original plan assumed was dead, so it was laid out as an open air street grid instead. It runs to nearly a million square feet and takes its name from a rural community Garland had already absorbed.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
