The Gordon Baking Company of Detroit finished a plant here in 1930 for its Silvercup bread, and at its peak the bakery reportedly made about a third of the bread eaten in metropolitan New York and supplied the city's schools. A dispute with the Teamsters closed it in 1975, and the Suna brothers reopened the shell as a film studio in 1983. The Sopranos and Sex and the City were shot inside, and the rooftop neon sign from about 1961 carries the closing fight of Highlander.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
