Sherwood House, a 1740 tenant farmhouse on Philipsburg Manor
1740

Thomas Sherwood built this frame house in 1740 on twenty five acres he leased from Philipsburg Manor, and it is one of the last pre Revolutionary tenant farmhouses left standing in the New York area. The design is plain and probably Dutch in origin, with Dutch doors and a two storey porch running the width of the front. A caretaker's cottage and a barn from about 1840 share the plot.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
