Shady Shores begins as a row of fishing cabins on Lake Dallas
1925
Shady Shores, Texas
In the mid 1920s a Dallas contractor named John William Franck put up about ten wood shingle cabins on the north shore of the new Lake Dallas reservoir, meant as a weekend camp for city people who wanted to fish. By the 1930s the cabins were coming down and permanent houses were going up in their place. The residents incorporated in 1960, after the Army Corps enlarged the water into Lewisville Lake.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
