Rouge Steel is split off from Ford and sold on
1989
Dearborn, Michigan
Ford built the Rouge so that everything a car needed could be made on one site, and that included the steel. In 1989 the company divested the mills, which traded afterwards as Rouge Steel. The bankrupt operation was bought by the Russian steelmaker Severstal around 2004 and has changed hands again since. The mills occupy most of the Rouge complex south of Road 4.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
