Rose Hill, the mayor's house above Sabine Lake
1906
Lakeshore Drive, Port Arthur, Texas
Michael Reed · CC BY-SA 3.0 · Wikimedia Commons
Rome Hatch Woodworth, an early mayor of Port Arthur, built this house in 1906 on the rise facing Sabine Lake, in the stretch of shoreline where the town's oil money settled. It is one of the few houses from that row still standing. It was listed on the National Register in 1979.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
