Prohibition Park, now called Westerleigh

The National Prohibition Campground Association bought this land in 1887 and opened a dry summer resort of tents, lecture halls and temperance meetings, drawing 200,000 visitors a year by 1897. The tents became houses and the resort became an ordinary neighbourhood. The street names never changed, so residents still live on avenues named for Prohibition Party candidates and dry states.
