Prestonwood Baptist Church moves onto 140 acres in Plano
Plano, Texas
CC0 · Wikimedia Commons
Prestonwood began in 1977 as a mission church meeting in a North Dallas community centre. It held its first service on this 140-acre Plano campus in May 1999, and the site now holds a 7,000-seat worship hall, a school running from pre-kindergarten through grade twelve, playing fields, a fitness centre and a bookstore. Membership is above 45,000, which makes it one of the largest churches in the country.
