Pacesetter Gardens, the townhouses that changed who could live in Riverdale
1960

Riverdale was almost entirely single family houses until Harry J. Quinn built these twelve townhouse buildings on South Lowe Avenue in 1960. Quinn was an architect as well as a developer and he argued publicly for multi family housing at a time when suburbs were writing it out of their codes. The plain fronts with box bay windows opened the village to renters and to lower income buyers.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
