Los Angeles agents bought up the valley's water rights, at times posing as ranchers, and took the river 233 miles by gravity alone. Owens Lake went to dust and became the largest single source of dust pollution in America. The ranchers dynamited the aqueduct repeatedly in the 1920s and lost.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
