Olmsted's park system
Buffalo, New York
![]()
Olmsted laid out the first coordinated park system in America here, six parks joined by landscaped parkways rather than a single reserve, and called Buffalo the best-planned city in the United States. Much of the parkway network was later cut apart by expressways.
