Sixty-odd buildings taken apart where they stood across Wisconsin and rebuilt on six hundred acres of the Kettle Moraine, grouped by where the families who built them came from: German farmsteads here, Norwegian there, Finnish, Danish, Polish. It is one of the largest outdoor museums of rural life anywhere, and the point of it is that Wisconsin was assembled out of other countries' villages within living memory of the people who first ran it.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
