Old City Hall, the Italianate clocktower Tacoma kept losing tenants for
1893
Tacoma, Washington
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
Tacoma put up its city hall in 1893 in a northern Italian style, with masonry walls eight feet thick at the base tapering to six at street level and a ten story clocktower on the corner of Pacific Avenue. The city government moved out decades ago and the building has cycled through owners, restaurants and long empty stretches ever since. It gives its name to the historic district around it.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
