NoDa, the mill village artists took over
1903
Charlotte, North Carolina
A cotton mill and its village on North Davidson Street, emptied when the textile industry left the Piedmont, then taken over by artists in the 1980s for the cheap space. It is now the city's music and gallery district and is pricing out the people who made it.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
