Kennesaw makes gun ownership mandatory
Kennesaw, Georgia
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
Months after Morton Grove, Illinois banned handguns, the Kennesaw city council answered with an ordinance requiring every head of household to keep a working firearm and ammunition. Section 34-21 of the city code still says so. It exempts convicted felons, people with mental illness, anyone with a religious objection and anyone who cannot afford a gun, and the police department says it has never been enforced.
