Kenner, the town folded out of three sugar plantations
1855
Kenner, Louisiana
Minor Kenner laid out a town in 1855 on riverfront ground his family had assembled from three sugar plantations, and the surveyor's plat dated 2 March is still treated locally as the town's birthday. Sources disagree on which three plantations went into it. Kenner stayed small for decades, became a town in 1914 and a city in 1952, then grew on airport and suburban traffic into the most populous city in Jefferson Parish.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
