Hopewell Furnace and the iron plantation

An iron works run like a self-contained village, furnace, company store, tenant houses, charcoal hearths and thousands of acres of woodland cut on rotation to feed it. It made stove plates by the tens of thousands, and the whole complex survives because the business failed early enough that nobody modernised it away.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
