Highland School and the demolition that started Historic Boulder
1892
9th and Arapahoe, Boulder, Colorado
Hustvedt · CC BY-SA 3.0 · Wikimedia Commons
The fourth school built in Boulder went up in 1892 in red brick and blond sandstone from local quarries, and taught until 1971. When the city moved to knock it and nearby Central School down, the people who objected organised themselves as Historic Boulder Inc. The school came through as offices and was listed on the National Register in 1978.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
