Harmon Meadow, the outlet strip that replaced the Secaucus pig farms
1981
The Plaza at Harmon Meadow, Secaucus, New Jersey
CC0 · Wikimedia Commons
Hartz Mountain Industries built the Plaza on 175 acres of filled meadow in 1981 and put its own headquarters inside it. Hotels, offices, a convention centre and 400,000 square feet of shops turned a turnpike interchange into the reason most people stop in Secaucus at all. The town had been known for its pig farms within the working lives of the men who signed the leases.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
