In August 1843 Sam Houston met chiefs and captains of ten Native nations out on the Grape Vine Prairie, and the treaty of peace and commerce signed there opened the land to homesteaders. Settlers arrived the following year, which makes Grapevine the oldest town in Tarrant County. The name came from the wild mustang grapes growing thick around Grape Vine Springs.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
