Garret Mountain, the ridge Paterson looks up at
1967
Paterson and Woodland Park, New Jersey

The First Watchung ridge rises straight off the back of Paterson, and 568 acres of it are county park. Passaic County took the land in 1928 after the silk fortune that built the castle on its slope collapsed. In 1967 the federal government named it a National Natural Landmark in one listing together with the Great Falls below, tying the basalt ridge and the waterfall that powered the city into a single piece of geology.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
