Urban Investment and Homart opened Fox Valley Center on 30 July 1975 between Aurora and Naperville, 1.5 million square feet under one roof with space for 160 shops. Sears and Marshall Field's had opened their anchors five months ahead of the rest. Sales hit $115 million by 1977. Home builders and office developers marketed the farmland around it as the Fox Valley Villages, and the corn between the two cities filled in behind the mall.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
