Henry Ford took over a rented wagon manufacturing shop on Mack Avenue in April 1903, two months before the Ford Motor Company was incorporated, and the original Model A was assembled here that June. Almost none of the car was made on the premises: the running gear, engine and body came in from outside suppliers and the shop put them together. A second storey was added to raise output, and the Model AC followed with the larger Model C engine before Ford outgrew the building.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
