Five Points is five roads, ten people and a cotton gin from Places in the Heart
1984
Five Points, Texas
The settlement takes its name from the spot where five roads run together southwest of Waxahachie, and it has been there since the late 1800s. The 2000 census counted ten residents. Its cotton gin was used for scenes in Places in the Heart, the 1984 film that won Sally Field her second Oscar and put this stretch of Ellis County on screen as Depression era Texas. An EF2 tornado came through in May 2021 and tore up outbuildings and roofs.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
