Fleetwood Metal Body started in 1909 in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania, hand building coachwork for people who could afford to order a car body the way they ordered a suit. Fisher Body bought the firm and moved the work to this plant on Fort Street, folding it into General Motors in 1931. For decades the top Cadillac bodies were finished here and hauled across town to the Clark Street assembly line. The plant is gone, but the town's name outlived it as a Cadillac model.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
