Ford and his wife Clara finished this limestone house on the Rouge in 1915 and named it for a lane in Cork where his adoptive grandfather was born. The estate ran to 1,300 acres and held a dammed river, a hydroelectric powerhouse whose cornerstone Thomas Edison laid, a greenhouse, stables and gardens laid out by Jens Jensen. It is a National Historic Landmark and the house is open to the public.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
