Euclid Beach Park, Cleveland's Coney Island on the lake
1895
Cleveland, Ohio
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
Investors opened an amusement park on the Lake Erie shore in 1895, copying Coney Island down to the vaudeville acts, beer garden, sideshows and gambling. It failed within four years and was taken over and rebuilt, then ran until 1969. The carved stone archway at the entrance still stands and is a protected Cleveland landmark.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
