El Molino Viejo, the oldest commercial building in Southern California

Father Jose Maria de Zalvidea had this water powered grist mill built in 1816 to grind grain for Mission San Gabriel. It is the oldest commercial building left standing in Southern California. In 1971 it was among the first ten sites in Los Angeles County listed on the National Register.
