Parker Mill, the last of the Fleming Creek mills

William Parker built this small grist mill on Fleming Creek in 1873, on the footprint of an older sawmill, to grind feed for his own farm and his neighbours'. His son turned it into a commercial flour operation that sold pancake mix, buckwheat flour and cracked wheat cereal before the machinery stopped in 1959. At least five mills once worked this creek and this is the only one left standing, restored and opened as a county park in 1984.
