Daniels, the mill town the Patapsco erased
1972
Daniels, Maryland

This village on a bend of the Patapsco took a new name with every change of mill owner, from Elysville to Alberton in 1853 and finally to Daniels in 1940 for the C.R. Daniels company, which bought the mill and 118 houses outright. The company phased out the company town in 1965 and pulled down the houses and churches. Tropical storm Agnes finished off most of what was left in June 1972, and the townsite is now a footpath in Patapsco Valley State Park.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
