Cheverly station, for years the quietest stop on the Metro
1978
Cheverly, Maryland

This side platform station opened on 20 November 1978 as the first Maryland stop heading east on the line, set among houses off Columbia Park Road with 530 parking spaces. For decades it recorded the lowest average weekday ridership of any station in the Washington Metro system. Loudoun Gateway took that distinction when the Silver Line extension opened in 2022.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
