The A Line to the airport ran for years with flaggers at every crossing

The commuter train from Union Station to Denver International opened in April 2016, and this is its Aurora stop. The wireless system that was supposed to time the crossing gates never worked properly, so federal regulators made RTD post a human flagger at every grade crossing. The arrangement was meant to cover 90 days of testing. It ran until early 2019.
