Lake Worth was impounded on the West Fork of the Trinity entirely inside the Fort Worth city limits. In December 1926 two Ohio investors leased the beach from the city and spent about a million dollars on a resort, which opened on 28 May 1927 advertised as the Atlantic City of the West. It had a boardwalk, a dance hall and the Thriller, then the largest roller coaster in the Southwest. The resort is gone.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
