Carlo's Bake Shop on Washington Street

Carlo Guastaferro opened the bakery in 1910 and sold it in 1964 to Bartolo Valastro, whose son took over at seventeen when his father died. It was a neighbourhood Italian bakery doing lobster tails and cannoli until a cable network turned it into Cake Boss in 2009, after which the queue outside regularly ran down the block. It is the rare case of a television show pointing at a place that was already there.
