Camp 6, the logging museum that ran a railroad inside a city park
1964
Tacoma, Washington
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
Logging engineers built a working replica of a steam era timber camp on fourteen forested acres inside Point Defiance Park in 1964, complete with bunk cars, a spar tree and a railroad running between the sites. It held over five hundred tons of logging and rail equipment, much of it still steam powered. Funding ran out and it closed in December 2010, and the machinery was dispersed to museums in Washington, Oregon and California.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
