The city merged the Brooklyn branches of Hunter, then a women's college, and City College, then a men's college, into one institution in 1930, the first public coeducational liberal arts college in New York City. It was free to attend until the city's 1975 fiscal crisis ended that. The campus covers 35 acres across Midwood and Flatbush and holds about 14,000 students.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
