Braemar Arena, the rink Edina hockey was built around
1965
Edina, Minnesota
Edina opened this rink in March 1965 and dedicated it that December, built for a high school hockey program that has since taken fourteen boys' state titles and five girls'. Frank Pattee Architects drew it, then used the same idea as the concept for the Met Center, which opened a few miles east in Bloomington in 1967 for the North Stars. Two more sheets of ice followed, one in the early 1970s and one in 1997.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
