Boz emptied out when the government bought the land for the supercollider

Settlers put Boz on the southwest Ellis County prairie in the late 1880s and it stayed a farming crossroads for a century. Then the Superconducting Super Collider was sited under these fields and the land went to the project. By 1992 everyone had gone except Monnie Bratcher, who was eighty-four and stayed. Congress killed the collider the next year, so the town was cleared for a machine that never got built.
